Ductwork Installation, Repair & Sealing
Why Your Ductwork Matters More Than You Think
Studies by Natural Resources Canada have found that duct leakage accounts for up to 30% of total heating and cooling energy waste in typical Ontario homes. A poorly sealed duct system is essentially like running your furnace with the windows open — conditioned air escapes into walls, attics, and basements instead of reaching the rooms you are trying to heat or cool. Duct sealing is consistently one of the highest-return energy efficiency improvements available to Ontario homeowners.

Our Ductwork Services
New Ductwork Design & Installation
For new home builds, additions, renovations, or homes converting from boiler heating to forced-air HVAC systems, we design and fabricate custom duct systems using Manual D duct design calculations to ensure proper airflow to every room. Our sheet metal and flexible duct installations are fabricated and sized correctly from the start — avoiding the undersized or poorly routed ductwork that plagues many homes.
Duct Sealing & Insulation
We seal all duct joints, seams, and connections using mastic sealant and metal-backed tape — the only materials that provide a durable, code-compliant seal. We do not use standard grey duct tape, which fails within a few years. Duct insulation is applied to all ducts running through unconditioned spaces (attics, basements, crawl spaces) to prevent heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer.
Ductwork Repair & Modification
Damaged, collapsed, or disconnected duct sections are repaired or replaced. We also perform duct modifications for HVAC system upgrades, home additions, and renovations where existing duct layout needs to change.
Airflow Balancing
If some rooms in your home are always too hot or too cold while others are comfortable, airflow imbalance is likely the cause. We perform airflow testing and adjust duct dampers, register sizes, and duct sizing to deliver the correct volume of conditioned air to each room.
Signs Your Ductwork Needs Attention
- Some rooms are consistently warmer or cooler than the rest of the house
- You can feel air escaping from duct joints in your basement or attic
- Higher than expected energy bills despite a properly functioning furnace or AC
- Dust accumulates quickly on surfaces throughout the home
- Whistling or rattling noises from ducts when the system is running
- Visible gaps, disconnected sections, or crushing damage in accessible ducts
How Much Does Ductwork Cost in Ontario?
Duct sealing for a typical Oshawa home costs $500–$1,500 and often pays back within 1–3 years through energy savings. New ductwork installation for a full home ranges from $3,000 to $8,000+ depending on home size and system complexity. Partial duct replacement or modification work is quoted based on the scope of work. Contact us for a free assessment.
